1. Who we are

Vertex Knowledge & Consumer Data ("VKCD", "we", "us") operates the website https://www.vkcd.io, the research dashboards at https://board.vkcd.io and https://mkt.vkcd.io, and the VK Affiliate mobile application. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. For any privacy question, contact us at contact@vkcd.io.

2. Data we collect

When you use our services we may collect:

Account data — name, email address, phone number, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google account identifier and profile name. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes; we never see them in plain text.
Research submissions — the content you submit as a field researcher: shop names, order numbers, delivery dates, screenshots and purchase receipts, recordings of product displays, and free-form notes. This may include personal data of third parties (for example, a delivery address on a receipt). Only submit what is necessary for the research task.
Usage and device data — IP address, timestamps, and technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.
Financial data — payout details you provide (for example, a PIX key or bank account) so we can pay research rewards.

3. Why we use your data

To create and administer your account and authenticate you (including via Google Sign-In, if you choose it);
To operate the research programmes: validating submissions, calculating rewards, and paying them;
To detect fraud and duplicate or manipulated submissions;
To provide aggregated research results to our clients — client reports contain aggregated statistics, not your personal identity;
To comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, lawful requests).

4. Google Sign-In

If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, name and email address from Google. We use them only to identify your account and never post on your behalf or read your Google data beyond your basic profile. Unlinking is available on request (contact@vkcd.io).

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with: service providers that host our infrastructure (servers and email) under contract; our business clients, in aggregated form that does not identify you; and authorities, when legally required. International transfers, when they occur, are protected by appropriate safeguards.

6. Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. Research submissions and financial records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting rules (in Brazil, up to 5 years). You can request deletion of your account at any time; data we must keep by law will be kept only for that purpose.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the LGPD in Brazil and the GDPR in the EU), you may have the right to:

access the personal data we hold about you;
correct inaccurate data;
delete your account and data;
object to or restrict certain processing;
port your data;
lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

8. Security

We protect data with transport encryption (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and least-privilege administration. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the competent authority as required by law.

9. Children

Our services are not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services evolve. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
